Packaging & deposit

Find all the answers to your questions about packaging & deposits! 😊♻️

Can the I·DO bottles be returned?

No, this is not currently possible. The deposit bottles can simply be returned to supermarkets to keep transport distances short. The I·DO juice bottle can thus be returned to the recycling cycle and reused.

What material are I·DO bottles made of?

I·DO bottles are made from 100% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (R-PET). The bottles should be disposed of with plastic waste so that they can be returned to the recycling loop - more recycling for more environmental protection!

Recycled PET is not newly produced PET from crude oil, a finite resource, but rather PET that has already been used for packaging and has been reprocessed for reuse through an established recycling process. Life cycle assessments clearly show that recycled PET has a lower carbon footprint than newly produced PET.

For us, R-PET is merely an interim solution on the way to even more sustainable packaging. Initial tests with innovative packaging forms have already been promising, and we look forward to telling you more about them soon.

Can I throw I·DO bottles into the organic waste or compost?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. The I·DO bottles are made from 100% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (R-PET). The bottles should be disposed of with plastic waste so that they can be returned to the recycling loop - more recycling for more environmental protection!

Where can I·DO returnable bottles be dropped off?

The I·DO reusable bottle can be returned to all supermarkets that sell deposit-bearing items. The empty bottles, just like other deposit bottles with the familiar deposit symbol, can be returned at supermarkets such as REWE, Edeka, Aldi, etc. - even if they do not sell IDO juices themselves. Organic supermarkets that only offer organic products, such as Denn's, rarely accept them.

Why is there a deposit on I·DO bottles?

To keep as much plastic in circulation as possible and reduce the new production of plastic, the I·DO juice bottle has a deposit symbol which makes it possible to return the most sustainable I·DO juice bottle to the recycling loop for reuse. In addition, from January 2022, a deposit will be mandatory nationwide in Germany, meaning that all single-use plastic bottles will generally be subject to a deposit.

How can the packaging material be disposed of?

I·DO products are shipped in a more sustainable cold packaging, which is made of environmentally friendly packaging and insulating materials.

R-PET bottles:

I·DO bottles are made from 100% recycled PET material. The bottles should be disposed of with plastic waste so that they can be returned to the recycling loop.

Insulated cardboard made from sustainable raw materials:

Thanks to the I·DO insulated cardboard, styrofoam or other materials can be avoided. It should preferably be disposed of in paper waste and is fully recyclable.

Cooling elements:

The ice packs consist of a water-based gel. They are absolutely harmless and food-safe. The ice packs can be reused or alternatively disposed of with household waste.

Can small parts detach from the packaging that would be unhealthy if I were to ingest them?

No, that cannot happen.
