Your I DO Team

The key to life is balance

  • Recap: What is a juice cleanse?

A juice cleanse is a modified, modern form of therapeutic fasting: For a few days, you completely abstain from solid food and replace your meals with fruit and vegetable juices. The reduced energy intake activates autophagy, the self-cleaning process of cells. This triggers the body's own regeneration processes.

A juice cleanse can therefore be thought of as a kind of reset for the body. This new start can help you break annoying eating habits, reduce stress, recharge your batteries, improve your well-being, or start a new phase of your life with fresh energy.

  • Why the I DO Post-Holiday Juice Cleanse ?

Our everyday lives can sometimes be quite stressful. Stress at work, family appointments, household chores that need to be done. In all this hustle and bustle, many of us forget to give our bodies what they truly need. Yet we know full well that an unbalanced and unhealthy lifestyle can have a negative impact on many areas of our lives.

Juice fasting is perfect for you if you're looking for a new inner balance. With juice fasting, you don't completely abstain from food, but instead supply your body with nutrients and phytochemicals using special juices.

This simple juice cleanse is ideal for taking a break from everyday life and learning the difference between hunger and appetite.

Colon cleansing

Fasting has a positive effect on your microbiome (intestinal flora) and the intestinal mucosa. The unbalanced intestinal flora can regenerate during fasting. The diversity of bacterial species may increase after fasting and ensure better digestion*.

Fat burning

On the third day of fasting, the body switches to fasting metabolism, meaning it gets more than 80% of its energy from its own fat reserves. Once it has learned this, the body can flexibly access this fat metabolism even after fasting. A great advantage for anyone who wants to lose weight sustainably.

Establish new habits

Fasting is a great way to give up vices or establish new routines permanently.

Balancing the acid-base balance

Our often hectic modern lifestyle and a diet with lots of sugar and highly processed foods often contribute to over-acidification of the organism. This can have a negative effect on our well-being. Fasting can help to bring the acid-base balance back into balance.

cleaning

By abstaining from food, we activate the body's self-healing powers. Your body has two metabolic programs: nutrient intake (eating) and not eating (fasting). It uses the first to supply all body cells with the necessary nutrients, the second to cleanse and repair. During fasting, you allow your body to fully concentrate on cleansing and rebuilding.

Have a new experience: renunciation

Modern people living in industrialized countries no longer have to do without almost anything: almost everything is within reach at the touch of a button.
Voluntary renunciation means refocusing on the essentials in life in order to gather strength for new horizons.
In the coming days you will learn how such a period of abstinence can still be an enjoyable experience with our I DO Post-Holiday Juice Cleanse .

Quotes

  • "Fasting is the food of the soul. As physical food strengthens, so fasting strengthens the soul and gives it agile wings, lifts it up and makes it think about heavenly things."

    John Chrysostom

Possible side effects during the juice cleanse

It's perfectly normal to experience certain physical reactions during a juice cleanse—especially during the first few days. These are due to the elimination of toxins, the reduced calorie intake, and the avoidance of caffeine or sugar. They are usually temporary and nothing to worry about.

Possible symptoms include fatigue, hunger, mild headaches, nausea, diarrhea, nervousness, sleep disturbances, skin blemishes, darker urine, more intense breathing, increased sweating, and skin rashes or redness. An increased sensation of cold may also occur – due to avoiding warm meals and consuming chilled juices.

The body enters a phase of rest and intensive cleansing. These reactions indicate that the detoxification is taking effect. They do not occur in everyone and vary from person to person.

Listen to your body, take rest breaks, and slow down if necessary. These symptoms usually subside at the end of the treatment.

What happens in the body during juice fasting?

Overall, you'll completely abstain from solid food for several days. A preparation day and a recovery day round out your juice fasting experience.
Ideally, you should switch to light food a few days before starting the juice cleanse – this way your stomach can better prepare for what is to come.

  • Preparation day

  • Fasting day 1

  • Fasting day 2

  • Fasting day 3

  • Construction day

The preparation day marks the beginning of the fasting cure and signals to the body that something new is about to happen. Below, we've explained what happens in your body during the five fasting days.

The sugar reserves (carbohydrate stores) are emptied and the protein stores in the liver are converted into energy.

Day 2: The body demands food because it senses that no external energy supply is coming in. This can lead to a natural feeling of hunger.

Day 3: The body switches to fasting metabolism (often referred to as ketogenic metabolism). It now produces sugar substitutes from your fat reserves to provide your body with sufficient energy. From now on, over 80% of the energy required is derived from fat reserves.

After the change has taken place in the body, most people feel significantly better and the body begins to release happiness hormones.

Preparing for your juice cleanse

  • 🥦 Prepare step by step!

With a few simple adjustments, you can help your body optimally prepare for the juice cleanse—so you'll feel great from day one. Let's get started!

  • 📅 3 days before: more plants, less stress

    Eat more fruits and vegetables!
Focus on seasonal, fresh produce. Raw foods are ideal now—they provide plenty of natural enzymes that support your digestion.

    Drink a lot!
Drink at least 2 liters of water daily . Vitamin water with lemon, cucumber, or mint makes it delicious and nutritious.

    Less caffeine
An alkaline state in the body is ideal for the cleanse. If you love coffee, no problem—try cold brew or matcha , both gentler alternatives.

    Start fasting diary
Write down how you feel, what you eat, and what you desire. This will help you become more aware of your diet.

    These foods are great now:

    • Fresh fruits & vegetables, algae, mushrooms
    • Legumes (lentils, chickpeas, beans…)
    • Gentle carbohydrates such as quinoa, rice, potatoes
    • Gluten-free grains (oats, buckwheat, millet)
    • Nuts and seeds
    • Unsweetened plant milk (oat, almond, soy…)

  • 📅 2 days before: unnecessary throwing out of stuff

    🚫 Avoid this now:

    • Alcohol & Cigarettes
    • Ready-made products & industrially processed foods
    • Refined sugar (sweets, soft drinks, jam, pastries)
    • Unhealthy fats (frying oil, chips, spreads…)
    • Red meat, dairy products, cheese, cream

This allows your body to recover before the treatment.

  • 📅 1 day before: keep it clean

    • Less meat, fish, eggs
    • Significantly reduce animal dairy products
    • Avoid coffee and black tea
    • Less gluten (white bread, pasta, cakes)

Goal: A light, plant-based diet that gently guides you into your juice cleanse.

👉 Remember: There are only two things you can do wrong: not starting at all – or giving up too soon! And if you need support: We're here for you.

execution

  • Daily routine

    • Start your day with a glass of warm water .
    • Drink your juices at regular intervals , about every 1.5 to 2 hours .
    • Make sure you drink enough still water throughout the day: about 30 ml per kg of body weight .
    • You can drink unsweetened teas or herbal teas at any time – even with lemon or a little honey .

💡 Ginger tea recipe : Steep 3 slices of organic lemon and 6 slices of peeled organic ginger in 400 ml of boiling water for 5 minutes. The ginger can be used up to three times.

  • Notes on juice consumption

    • Drink each juice mindfully and calmly . Sit down, take your time, and enjoy the flavors and texture .
    • Leave each sip in your mouth for a few seconds , as this is where digestion begins.
    • You can also enjoy your juice with a spoon , like a soup.
  • 🤔 Hungry or hungry?

    Yes, there is a difference!

    • Hunger is a physical need for food.
    • Appetite is the desire to eat something specific – often emotional or habitual.

During the treatment you will develop a finer sense for these differences .

👉 If you really feel the need to chew , you can snack on some raw vegetable sticks , such as carrots or celery. No problem – listen to your body !

Activities to accompany your juice cleanse

Yoga brings you back to yourself – to your breath , your body , and your inner balance . The practice helps reduce stress, strengthen concentration and mindfulness, and improve flexibility, balance, and posture.

Yoga creates a positive body image and is a perfect complement to your juice cleanse – calm, mindful, and strengthening.

🚶 Walking – Simple and effective

Just 15 minutes of walking a day can promote digestion and improve your well-being ( University of Washington ). It: stimulates bowel movements, supports detoxification, and clears the mind without causing fatigue.

Activity
.

🧘‍♂️ Meditation – Finding inner peace

Meditation helps you arrive in the moment and let go of your thoughts . It brings: mental clarity, less stress and worry, more inner peace and stability

If you meditate during the treatment, you will intensify the positive effects and experience a holistic reset – for body and mind .

💡 Sport – Is that possible?

Yes, but please be gentle! Your body needs energy to detoxify, not for

Juice fasting tip

Choose quiet, plannable days to start your post-holiday juice cleanse. It's best to make sure you don't have any important appointments, celebrations or other commitments on the first two days. Starting the preparation day on a Friday before a quiet weekend has proven to be the ideal time to start for many juice cleanse fans.

Recipes for the preparation time

Day 1 to 3 · During the post-holiday juice cleanse

That wasn't so difficult, was it?

So it continues tomorrow …

execution

  • You have completed three intensive days of juice cleansing and have probably learned a lot about yourself. Be proud of yourself. You have achieved something that most likely seemed very challenging to you just a short time ago. Write down this moment and the feeling associated with it in your journal. You will be happy when you look back on your fasting journey later. Perhaps you will find a suitable adjective to describe this feeling. Then you can recall this adjective in the future and may be able to recall this feeling again.

However, your juice cleanse is not yet complete. The recovery day, like the relief day, is an integral part of the cleanse and should not be skipped under any circumstances. As the name suggests, today is about recovery and a healthy transition into a new phase of life.

  • Guide after the juice cleanse

In the 3 to 4 days following the juice cleanse, your digestive system should slowly restart. Give your body time!

Prefer easily digestible foods: clear soups, steamed vegetables, fresh fruit, raw vegetables, homemade smoothies , rice .

Only introduce one new, more complex food each day
, e.g .: Gluten-containing products (bread, pasta, cakes…), animal proteins (meat, fish, eggs, dairy products), tea and coffee.

Stay well hydrated! Drink plenty of water or lemon water, and feel free to continue drinking herbal teas. Vegetable juices are still a great addition, but they are no substitute for water.

What you should avoid in the week following the treatment. To ensure your treatment takes full effect, avoid the following for a few days: High-sugar products : sweets, sodas, chocolate, jam, etc.; Fatty and highly processed products : chips, fast food, ready-made sauces, sausages, pizza, etc.; Alcohol and nicotine

Seize the opportunity to develop new habits. These days after the treatment are ideal for establishing new, healthy routines . Perhaps you've managed to give up caffeine, alcohol, or sugar? Keep going! Listen to your body and adjust your diet to your needs. Most importantly, be patient and loving with yourself. A new chapter begins!
